In The Beginning...

In Early December my Mother In Law was diagnosed with Breast Cancer... This was a stun, to both her, and us. It has been a short journey for us so far, as I know others have dealt with it much longer then we. As I thought of what I could do for her to give her some comfort, I thought back to high school. My best friend's Mom passed away and that time I was part of a square exchange. I requested squares and cards from the group and I pieced them together as a gift of love for her. I decided to do this again, I reached out to friends that I knew crocheted and knitted and too some that I didn't through Facebook... It turned out to be a beautiful, beautiful afghan! She enjoys it very much, and was very uplifted by the cards of hope that came with it. I then decided to start a group to do this on a regular basis.

It did take me awhile to come up with the name, I had some help from a friend, Ianna, but we decided on one, and it has been quite a bit of fun organizing and collecting the squares. We now have a waiting list of 7 afghans to make, for people all over the country that have been recently diagnosed, that we are trying to share some love with!!!

Wish us well on our journey, as it is just beginning!
